Deployment Solutions Engineer
Position Summary
The Deployment Solutions Engineer is responsible for supporting and managing telecommunications and IT infrastructure deployment initiatives across the network. This role coordinates the full lifecycle of 1 2 concurrent deployment programs, including network and hardware implementations, from planning through production release. The Deployment Solutions Engineer works closely with engineering, operations, field teams, and vendors to ensure deployments are executed on schedule, within scope, and with minimal service impact operating under guidance from senior program leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Deployment Planning & Coordination
Support end-to-end planning for network and hardware deployment initiatives, including scope definition, milestone development, and resource scheduling.
Coordinate across engineering, operations, and field teams to align on deployment sequencing, readiness gates, and go/no-go criteria.
Develop and maintain deployment schedules, ensuring dependencies are identified and tracked throughout the program lifecycle.
Vendor & Field Management
Coordinate vendor activities including equipment staging, delivery, on-site installation, and testing to ensure readiness at each deployment phase.
Serve as a primary point of contact for field technicians during active deployment windows, providing guidance and escalation support as needed.
Track vendor deliverables and flag risks or delays to senior program leadership in a timely manner.
Risk, Dependency & Milestone Tracking
Maintain accurate program tracking documentation, including risk registers, dependency logs, and milestone dashboards.
Proactively identify and communicate risks, blockers, or scope changes that may impact delivery timelines or service quality.
Escalate unresolved issues to senior program managers or technical leads with appropriate context and recommended mitigation options.
Technical Support & Deployment Readiness
Review and validate deployment documentation including MOPs, site surveys, hardware BOMs, and configuration packages prior to execution.
Confirm that pre-deployment prerequisites hardware staging, network readiness, change approvals are complete before authorizing field activity.
Support post-deployment validation activities and assist with troubleshooting when installations do not meet acceptance criteria.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain up-to-date deployment records including activity logs, site status, test results, and issue resolution notes.
Contribute to program status reports and stakeholder updates under direction from senior program leadership.
Capture lessons learned and contribute procedural feedback to improve future deployment quality and repeatability.
Qualifications
3 8 years of experience in telecommunications, IT infrastructure deployment, or network operations.
Hands-on familiarity with network and hardware deployments, preferably in telecom environments (Cisco experience strongly preferred).
Working knowledge of routing, switching, or transport technologies sufficient to review MOPs and deployment documentation.
Proficiency with project tracking tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, MS Project) and standard office productivity applications.
Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and vendors simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional coordination and stakeholder reporting.
