Associate Director, Responsible AI

Your Impact
Reporting to the leader of the Responsible AI function, you will work closely with innovation leaders, legal stakeholders, technology teams, risk management, information security, and compliance partners. You will play a key role in advancing and operationalizing the organization s Responsible AI program, supporting the ethical, compliant, and sustainable use of generative AI tools across the enterprise.
You ll develop trusted relationships with attorneys and business professionals, helping align responsible AI practices with innovation initiatives, client expectations, and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible AI Governance & Enablement
- Help design, implement, and evolve responsible AI frameworks, policies, and processes that support the use of generative AI in alignment with ethical principles, professional obligations, client commitments, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Partner with legal, risk, security, IT, procurement, and other stakeholders to support organizationwide engagement with AI governance requirements and responsible use standards.
Governance Operations & Documentation
- Coordinate internal AI governance and oversight meetings, including intake reviews, agenda development, stakeholder coordination, and followup on action items.
- Maintain and organize Responsible AI documentation, including committee records, assessment materials, intake workflows, and governance trackers to ensure transparency and consistency.
Attorney & Professional Enablement
- Contribute to education and changemanagement efforts by supporting training, guidance, and communications related to AI policies, approved tools, and responsible usage practices.
- Act as a resource for professionals navigating policy interpretation or responsible AI questions in daytoday work.
Client & External Engagement
- Support responses to client inquiries regarding the organization s approach to ethical and responsible AI use, working in partnership with innovation, risk, and legal stakeholders.
- Assist in shaping clear, consistent messaging regarding AI governance practices and safeguards.
Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Track developments in AI regulation, risk trends, and industry practices.
- Help identify and implement updates to policies, training, governance structures, and leadership reporting as the regulatory and technology landscape evolves.
What You Bring
Education
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school strongly preferred.
- Comparable experience in AI governance, technology risk, or emergingtechnology oversight will also be considered.
Experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience in legal, risk management, compliance, or AI governance roles within a law firm, professional services organization, or other clientfacing environment
or - 7+ years of experience with deep specialization in emerging technology risk, AI governance, or responsible innovation.
