About the Role
Our firm is recruiting on behalf of a global leader in the food, agriculture, nutrition, and industrial products industry. This organization operates across multiple regions worldwide and relies on complex technology and business operations to support its global workforce and manufacturing environments.
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a large-scale global transition of the organization's IT managed services provider. This role will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of a new managed services partnership across all regions, coordinating multiple stakeholders, vendors, and workstreams to ensure project objectives are achieved on time and within budget.
This position is focused on project leadership and oversight. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordination, risk management, stakeholder communication, and vendor management. This is not a hands-on technical role and does not involve software development, system configuration, programming, or sprint execution.
As the Project Manager, you will lead a highly visible global initiative involving the transition of IT managed services from one external provider to another. The implementation spans multiple regions and requires coordination across approximately fifteen concurrent workstreams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, resource allocations, and status reports.
- Lead large-scale global implementations while ensuring all workstreams remain aligned with project milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
- Organize project teams, assign responsibilities, and coordinate activities across cross-functional stakeholders and vendors.
- Monitor project scope, costs, staffing requirements, and overall project performance.
- Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders regarding project status, risks, issues, decisions, and key milestones.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proactively remove obstacles and facilitate discussions to drive timely decision-making and project progress.
- Manage vendor relationships and communications to ensure accountability and adherence to agreed schedules and deliverables.
- Track and maintain project information within project management and performance management tools.
- Ensure project documentation is accurate, complete, and properly archived for future reference and audit needs.
- Coordinate dependencies and deliverables across multiple global teams and regions.
- Escalate critical issues as needed and facilitate resolution through appropriate stakeholder engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of project management experience, with 5+ years preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading large, complex, cross-functional projects.
- Experience managing global implementations involving multiple stakeholders, workstreams, and geographic regions.
- Strong project planning and execution skills, including management of schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and deliverables.
- Experience coordinating multiple concurrent project workstreams and managing interdependencies.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with executive stakeholders, business leaders, vendors, and project teams.
- Strong vendor management experience, including driving accountability, managing timelines, and resolving escalated issues.
- Experience identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency using project management and performance tracking tools.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Prior experience supporting an organization in the food, agriculture, manufacturing, industrial, or related sectors.
- Experience implementing or transitioning IT managed services programs.
- Previous experience supporting IT managed services within a plant support or manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading projects involving multiple external vendors and global service delivery models.
- Previous experience with this client organization.
- Based in or near Wayzata, Minnesota, although location is not required.
