Job DescriptionThis technician will support an existing team, focusing on
MAC (Move, Add, Change) activities and new construction projects. While much
of the infrastructure is transitioning to
VoIP, this role will primarily support
emergency and classified hardline systems that will remain copper-based.
Responsibilities include responding to daily
trouble tickets, assisting with disconnects, provisioning new POTS lines, and supporting the MAC
team during downtime. The technician will work extensively with
DMARC and communication rooms, identifying copper circuits, client and provider demarcations, and performing testing and troubleshooting using
butt sets, tone generators, multimeters, probes, and similar tools.
The role also includes exposure to
VoIP installations, emergency service lines, elevator phones, and carrier-provided telephony
systems. Fiber experience is a plus, but the position is primarily copper-focused, with opportunities to
train and grow into fiber work.
