Role: System Engineer – Enterprise Infrastructure & Microsoft Cloud
Location: The Woodlands, TX – Locals Only
Work Schedule: 4 Days Onsite + Friday Remote

Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on System Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure and Microsoft Cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, enterprise storage, Microsoft 365, Azure, patching, backups, and infrastructure operations.
This role requires someone who can independently troubleshoot enterprise infrastructure issues and support both on-premises and hybrid Microsoft Cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Active Directory & Identity
- Administer Active Directory, OUs, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, service accounts, and privileged accounts.
- Process access requests while following security and least-privilege standards.
- Use PowerShell for operational, audit, and inventory reporting.
Windows Server & Virtualization
- Build, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016+ environments.
- Monitor server health, availability, capacity, and performance.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure alerts and participate in root cause analysis.
- Support VMware vCenter and enterprise virtualization activities.
- Support SAN, NAS, object storage, archiving, and cloud storage environments.
Patching, Deployment & Backup
- Support MECM/SCCM application packaging, software deployment, and Windows patching.
- Validate patching results and troubleshoot failed deployments.
- Monitor backup jobs and troubleshoot failures using platforms such as Commvault.
- Coordinate recovery and remediation activities.
Microsoft 365 & Azure
- Support Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Power Platform, and other Microsoft 365 services.
- Support Azure infrastructure and cloud services.
- Troubleshoot hybrid connectivity and integration issues between on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Cloud.
Infrastructure Operations
- Handle infrastructure incidents, service requests, and daily operational tasks.
- Prioritize issues based on business impact and urgency.
- Coordinate with internal IT teams, MSPs, and vendors.
- Provide regular status updates and escalate issues when required.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of enterprise Active Directory administration experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016 or later.
- Experience with VMware or similar enterprise virtualization platforms.
- Experience with SAN, NAS, object storage, backup, archiving, and cloud storage.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- Experience supporting on-premises and hybrid messaging environments.
- Understanding of networking concepts related to connectivity, resiliency, and performance.
- Working knowledge of MECM/SCCM, including application packaging and deployment.
- Strong understanding of enterprise Windows patching and patch cycles.
- Experience with enterprise backup solutions such as Commvault.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as SolarWinds.
- Strong PowerShell skills for administration, troubleshooting, and reporting.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage MSP and vendor relationships.
Preferred Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Infrastructure/System Engineer who can work independently, troubleshoot complex enterprise infrastructure issues, and provide reliable support across on-premises, hybrid, and Microsoft Cloud environments.
