Position Overview
We are seeking three Software Developer III professionals to support the Chief Information Security Office (CISO) in building and enhancing cybersecurity engineering solutions. This role focuses on security automation, penetration testing enablement, SIEM integration, and secure API development to support Zero Trust and continuous monitoring initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop secure APIs, microservices, and automation tools to support penetration testing workflows
Build integrations between vulnerability scanning tools, penetration testing platforms, and enterprise SIEM systems
Develop data ingestion pipelines for security telemetry into Splunk or other SIEM platforms
Create automation scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for security testing and reporting
Deploy and manage Kali Linux penetration testing environments (on-prem/cloud)
Develop custom scripts, proof-of-concept code, and exploit validation tools
Implement log normalization, enrichment, and alert automation workflows
Support CI/CD pipelines and version control for security tooling
Ensure compliance with HHSC, DIR, and NIST security frameworks
Produce technical documentation, configuration guides, and operational runbooks

Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in security automation and platform integrations
8+ years hands-on experience with penetration testing tools and Kali Linux environments
Strong proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#
Experience developing REST APIs and integrating enterprise systems
Experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, Sentinel, etc.)
Strong Linux administration experience
Knowledge of secure coding and cybersecurity best practices

Preferred Qualifications
Experience building scalable security architectures
Experience developing SIEM data pipelines
Experience with containerization (Docker), virtualization, or cloud-hosted labs
Experience in government or regulated environments
Certifications such as OSCP, CEH, CISSP, Security+, Splunk Certified Developer
