About Role:
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Envestnet Functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a strong Business Analyst background to support the analysis, design, and optimization of Envestnet platform solutions for banks, wealth management firms, RIAs, and financial institutions.
This role will act as a functional bridge between business stakeholders, product teams, compliance, and technology, ensuring Envestnet capabilities are aligned with wealth management business processes, regulatory requirements, and operational workflows. The ideal candidate brings deep domain expertise in Envestnet, wealth management operations, and data flows, with the ability to translate business needs into clear functional and integration requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Functional & Business Analysis
Serve as the Envestnet Functional SME, providing domain guidance on Envestnet capabilities, configurations, and best practices across wealth management ecosystems.
Work closely with business stakeholders (advisors, operations, compliance, product owners) to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
Translate business needs into functional specifications, use cases, user stories, process flows, and data mapping documents.
Drive gap analysis between business requirements and Envestnet out-of-the-box capabilities; recommend configuration vs customization approaches.
Envestnet Platform & Domain Expertise
Lead functional analysis for Envestnet modules including:
Account aggregation
Portfolio & performance reporting
Managed accounts (UMA/SMA)
Trading, billing, proposal tools, and reporting workflows
Define and document end-to-end business workflows across Envestnet and integrated systems (CRM, custodians, core banking, digital platforms).
Act as a functional advisor on Envestnet data models, portfolio/account data structures, and reporting hierarchies.
Integration & Data Collaboration
Partner with technical and integration teams to define functional integration requirements for REST/SOAP APIs, batch feeds, and event-based data exchanges.
Own data mapping, reconciliation rules, and validation logic between Envestnet and upstream/downstream systems.
Support root cause analysis of data discrepancies, reporting mismatches, and operational issues from a functional and data perspective.
Compliance, Security & Governance
Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to ensure Envestnet solutions meet regulatory, entitlement, and data governance requirements.
Define functional requirements for role-based access, advisor entitlements, audit trails, and data privacy.
Support UAT planning, execution, and sign-off to ensure solutions meet business and regulatory expectations.
Delivery & Stakeholder Management
Own functional solutioning from requirements through UAT and production readiness.
Work within Agile/Scrum environments, supporting backlog refinement, sprint planning, and functional clarifications.
Serve as a trusted point of contact between business and technology teams throughout delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory
Proven experience as a Functional SME or Business Analyst supporting Envestnet implementations for banks, wealth management firms, or RIA platforms.
Strong domain understanding of:
Wealth management operations
Portfolio & performance data
Managed accounts (UMA/SMA)
Reporting, billing, and proposal workflows
Hands-on experience producing:
Functional Technical Awareness (Not Hands-On Coding)
Data & Tools
Strong SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and reconciliation.
Experience working with reporting tools, extracts, and reconciliation reports.
Familiarity with CI/CD and cloud concepts from a delivery and coordination perspective.
Preferred / Nice to Have
Prior experience in WealthTech, FinTech, Asset Management, or Financial Services.
Experience supporting UAT, production releases, and post-go-live stabilization.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience working with custodians, CRMs, or portfolio accounting platforms integrated with Envestnet.
