Required Skills and Responsibilities

·       Enterprise Java Development: Significant hands-on experience developing and supporting large-scale applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and modern design patterns.

·       Healthcare / PBM Domain: Prior experience in healthcare, Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), claims processing, eligibility, or related healthcare platforms is strongly preferred. Familiarity with high-volume transaction processing is valuable.

·       Government Programs: Experience supporting government or regulated healthcare programs is preferred, with an understanding of the importance of security, compliance, documentation, reliability, and operational continuity.

·       Production Operations: Demonstrated experience owning production systems, troubleshooting critical incidents, performing root-cause analysis, monitoring applications, and coordinating resolution across engineering and infrastructure teams.

·       Cloud & Modern Architecture: Experience with cloud-native applications, distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures such as Kafka, SQL/NoSQL databases, containers, and CI/CD practices.

·       Modernization: Prior experience modernizing legacy applications into Java/Spring-based architectures, including refactoring, API enablement, and decomposition into services, is desirable.

·       Quality & Security: Strong background in automated testing, code reviews, performance optimization, secure coding, vulnerability remediation, and enterprise engineering standards.

·       AI-DLC / AI-Assisted Engineering: Experience using AI coding assistants and AI-DLC practices for requirements analysis, code development, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and code reviews is preferred.

·       Leadership & Ownership: Proven ability to work independently, take end-to-end technical ownership, mentor developers, and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
