AV Service Technician (Level 3)
Location: Greater Boston Area with travel into Southern NH
Type: 6-Month Contract with Potential Extension
Client: Leading Audiovisual Integration Firm
Overview
The AV Service Technician will provide advanced troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of integrated audiovisual systems across customer sites in Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. This role supports both scheduled service visits and rapid-response tickets, ensuring systems perform reliably and meet customer expectations.
Daily travel within the region is required.
Key Responsibilities
Travel daily to customer sites to diagnose and resolve AV system issues
Troubleshoot audio, video, control, UC platforms, and AV-over-IP components
Use Crestron Toolbox for device checks, updates, and system verification
Load system files onto control processors and make necessary adjustments during service visits
Open, adjust, and save DSP files (gain, routing, EQ, etc.) using Biamp or similar platforms
Perform firmware updates and device resets across AV hardware
Verify system wiring, network configuration, and signal flow paths
Read and interpret AV drawings and documentation while troubleshooting
Provide clear, professional communication with clients and internal stakeholders
Submit daily service notes, ticket updates, and follow-up documentation
Assist with punch-list tasks and project service calls as needed
Required Skills & Experience
3-5+ years of hands-on AV field service or installation experience
Strong troubleshooting ability across AV, control, and networked systems
Experience working with Crestron/Extron/AMX/Cisco/Poly environments
Ability to load and adjust system files on Crestron and Biamp systems during service work
(This is a mandatory requirement.)
Familiarity with DSP platforms such as Biamp/QSC/Shure
Ability to review and interpret AV system drawings and documentation
Professional communication skills and strong customer service mindset
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb ladders repeatedly
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. unassisted
Ability to install equipment overhead
Adequate visual acuity for cable termination and detail-oriented work
Preferred Certifications
AVIXA CTS (highly preferred)
Biamp Tesira certification
Crestron CTI training
Dante Level 1-3
Any additional manufacturer certifications
Compensation
Compensation is based on experience, technical skill level, and relevant certifications.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hr.
