Job Description

Oracle is the #1 Database in the world for transactional workloads. The Transaction Processing team develops the transaction engine for the Oracle database. The team consists of a group of highly motivated individuals who form the main pillars on which the Oracle database stands.

We are responsible for core transaction areas (locking, MVCC, parallel and distributed transaction and commit coordination protocols, etc), transactions support for AI Vector Database, developer friendly features like Duality Views (tip: google it), and Oracle "Flashback" technologies. We are also working on new applied-AI technologies, new cloud services and on a blazing-fast Postgres.

Members of the team have filed hundreds of patents on important technologies, and we publish our work in the best database conferences in the world like VLDB, SIGMOD, and ICDE. Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems.

Provide technical leadership to other software developers.

Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Research industry trends and prototype new ideas in thedatabase transaction management area with a focus on achieving high concurrency for data mutations and properties such as transaction isolation, consistency, data durability and transaction atomicity.

Evaluate the performance characteristics of various components in the transaction layer.

Optimize the transaction layer interactions with the query execution layers of the database as well as with system level components such as the OS and CPU.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,200 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
