Job Overview:
Pay Range $50hr - $55hr
Requirement/Must Have:
- SSD fundamentals: Basic understanding of SSD architecture and operation, including endurance/wear-out mechanisms, performance/latency characteristics, and reliability behavior.
- Interfaces & protocols: Working knowledge of PCIe and NVMe, including PCIe link concepts (e.g., LTSSM) and NVMe I/O operation basics.
- NVMe tooling & triage: Ability to execute common Linux/NVMe commands for device triage and management (e.g., collecting SMART/log pages, format operations, firmware download/update workflows, lsblk and related utilities).
- NVMe spec literacy: Familiarity with key portions of the NVMe specification relevant to reliability/quality monitoring, including interpretation of Critical Warning, health/reliability indicators, and log-page data.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring & response: Experience reviewing SSD health/performance alerts and dashboards, prioritizing issues by severity/impact, and initiating appropriate investigative actions.
- Issue triage & prioritization: Ability to perform Pareto-style analysis to identify highest-impact problem categories, gather supporting evidence, and drive structured triage.
- Bulk data analysis: Capability to analyze large sets of SSD telemetry (e.g., SMART attributes, reliability counters, performance metrics) to identify outliers, anomalies, and error trends.
- Technical reporting: Proven ability to communicate findings in a clear, professional format, including summary, conclusions, impact assessment, and recommended next steps.
Nice to Have:
- Prior exposure to SSD validation, failure analysis, or quality engineering workflows in a lab or production environment.
- Experience building lightweight dashboards or automated reporting pipelines for health/performance telemetry.
Skills:
- Scripting: Working knowledge of shell scripting for automation of data collection, triage workflows, and repeatable validation routines.
- Data tooling: Familiarity with one or more analysis/query tools such as JMP and/or SQL (or equivalent), and the ability to use them to extract and analyze operational datasets.
