TalentFish is casting a line for an experienced Category Manager in Healthcare Supply Chain. This is a full-time hybrid role in Chicago's west suburbs with our premier healthcare client.

Overview

The Category Manager will help strengthen the organization s healthcare supply chain by developing sourcing strategies, improving contract value, reducing costs, and supporting high-quality patient care.

This role will focus on Clinical Engineering services, including negotiating and managing supplier contracts for medical equipment repair and maintenance, identifying service standardization opportunities, and managing agreements supporting the company s Clinical Engineering program.

What You Bring to the Role (Ideal Experience)

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of clinical healthcare industry experience and supply chain experience in clinical environments.
• Experience with healthcare contract management, including medical equipment and supplies, repair and maintenance agreements, value analysis, diagnostic testing, or other clinical services and workflows.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills, including cost-benefit analysis, benchmarking, scenario modeling, and data-backed stakeholder influence.
• Proven project management, contract review, redlining, presentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.

What You'll Do (Skills Used in this Position)

• Manage a portfolio of 500 or more contracts representing $100M-$250M in supply, service, drug, and capital expenditures, including spend forecasting and budget insights.
• Lead the full contract lifecycle, including RFP/RFQ activity, redlining, due diligence, approvals, execution, and storage in the organization s contract lifecycle management system.
• Develop category sourcing strategies using spend data, market trends, and stakeholder input to deliver savings, standardization, and process improvements.
• Negotiate local and group purchasing organization contracts while balancing pricing, quality, service, compliance, and patient-care priorities.
• Lead vendor relationships and value-analysis initiatives with executives, physicians, clinical teams, and supply chain partners; track savings, cost avoidance, and compliance.

Compensation and Employment

This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 - $135,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
