A Brief Overview

Carries out and facilitates Scrum events, removes impediments, promotes collaboration, supports Product Owners, and drives continuous improvement across Agile teams. Ensures the effective implementation of the Scrum framework by creating an environment that enables team success, fosters continuous learning, and delivers business value. Coaches and mentors Scrum Masters and Agile teams while championing Agile principles, servant leadership, and organizational agility.

What You Will Do

Agile Leadership & Team Coaching
  • Coaches Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Agile teams on Agile principles, Scrum values, and best practices for project and product delivery.
  • Guides teams in self-organization, cross-functionality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Promotes a growth mindset and fosters a culture of adaptability, transparency, collaboration, and experimentation.
  • Helps establish and implement a common language and framework for Agile team collaboration.

Scrum Facilitation & Delivery Excellence
  • Facilitates and oversees Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
  • Removes impediments and proactively addresses risks and obstacles that impact team productivity and sprint commitments.
  • Protects teams from external disruptions, scope creep, and competing priorities during sprint execution.
  • Determines the amount of work that can be completed within proposed project timelines based on team capacity, velocity, and historical performance.
  • Forecasts team capacity and delivery potential for future initiatives to support realistic planning and release expectations.

Product & Stakeholder Partnership
  • Partners closely with Product Owners to support backlog management, prioritization, user story refinement, and product roadmap execution.
  • Helps ensure product goals, business objectives, and customer needs are clearly understood and aligned across teams.
  • Facilitates communication and collaboration among cross-functional stakeholders to drive successful product outcomes.

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensures risk assessments include risk identification, mitigation strategies, and contingency planning for Agile initiatives.
  • Establishes and maintains Scrum processes and procedures for backlog management, prioritization techniques, and user story refinement.
  • Identifies bottlenecks, workflow inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve team effectiveness and delivery outcomes.
  • Leverages metrics and Agile best practices to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Resource Planning & Operational Leadership
  • Develops budget and resource-planning strategies while considering team velocity, capacity, historical performance, and organizational priorities.
  • Supports planning and execution of Agile work across multiple teams and initiatives.
  • Ensures effective allocation of resources to meet delivery commitments and business objectives.

Minimum Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in Agile delivery, Scrum Master, Agile Coach, project management, or related roles.
  • Experience leading and coaching Agile teams in complex environments.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to remove impediments, resolve conflicts, and improve team dynamics.
  • Adept at problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Adept at collaboration and teamwork.
  • Adept at growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills.
  • Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe Agilist, or equivalent Agile certification preferred.
  • Experience managing or mentoring Scrum Masters and Agile practitioners.
  • Experience with Agile planning tools and delivery metrics.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, and scaled Agile methodologies.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or specialized training, Agile certification, or relevant professional qualification.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
