Backend Software Developer

100% Remote Position

Reports To: Project Manager, Product Owner of Development and Executive Team

Location: Remote (with up to 20% travel) 

Job Overview
We are seeking a Mid Level Software Developer with strong experience in C#, .NET, SQL, and backend enterprise application development. This role focuses on system logic, workflow automation, data processing, and device driven solutions, not front end web development. The ideal candidate has experience building and supporting operational or logistics oriented software, working with mobile devices (Android/iOS), and creating stable, maintainable backend functionality.

Key Responsibilities
Core Development
• Design, implement, and maintain C#/.NET applications and backend system components.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database logic to support core workflows.
• Enhance and support existing enterprise applications and integrations.
• Develop algorithms, service logic, and backend workflows that meet performance and reliability requirements.

Architecture & Standards
• Participate in requirements gathering, feature sizing, and technical design.
• Contribute to coding standards, code reviews, and documentation practices.
• Assist in shaping architectural approaches and solution strategies.

Testing & Quality
• Conduct functional testing and validation during development.
• Work directly with Android and iOS devices to test driver workflows, operational apps, and TMS related systems.
• Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with QA to ensure stable releases.

Collaboration & Delivery
• Work with tech leads to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams and occasionally operate independently.
• Support deployment processes and assist with knowledge transfer.

Qualifications
An ideal candidate for this position has the following combination of education and/or experience:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; and/or equivalent military or professional experience

Experience:
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
3+ years of development experience with JavaScript or C# code and GitHub, JSON, DevOps, SQL
