Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP FICO Consultant/Lead with 15+ years of SAP experience and strong expertise in SAP Funds Management (FM) and Grants Management (GM), preferably within large-scale Public Sector/Government implementations.

The ideal candidate will have strong functional knowledge of SAP FI, Funds Management, Grants Management, Budgeting, Public Sector Accounting, and financial controls, along with experience leading SAP implementation, enhancement, integration, and support initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead SAP FICO functional activities with a strong focus on Funds Management (FM) and Grants Management (GM).
• Design and implement SAP solutions for Public Sector financial management and budgeting processes.
• Configure and support Funds Management, including:
• Funds Center
• Commitment Items
• Fund
• Functional Area
• Funded Program
• Budgeting and availability control
• Budget transfers and supplements
• Commitment and actual postings
• Budget consumption and monitoring
• Configure and support SAP Grants Management, including:
• Grant master data
• Grant lifecycle management
• Grant budgeting
• Grant billing and revenue
• Grant expenditures
• Grant settlement and reporting
• Grant compliance and financial tracking
• Work extensively with SAP FI-GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting and Controlling integration.
• Integrate Funds Management with Procurement (MM), Sales/Billing (SD), Project Systems (PS), HR/HCM and other SAP modules.
• Develop and maintain financial structures supporting government/public-sector accounting and budgetary controls.
• Lead requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, solution design, configuration, testing and deployment.
• Prepare functional specifications for custom developments, reports, interfaces, conversions and enhancements.
• Lead SIT, UAT, regression testing and defect resolution.
• Support data migration, cutover planning and go-live activities.
• Analyze complex financial and budgeting issues and provide appropriate SAP solutions.
• Work with business stakeholders, finance leadership, technical teams and external vendors.
• Provide production support and lead root-cause analysis for critical financial issues.
• Develop functional documentation, process flows, configuration documents and training materials.
• Ensure SAP solutions comply with applicable public-sector financial policies, controls and audit requirements.
• Mentor junior and mid-level SAP FICO/FM/GM consultants.

• Multi-fund and multi-program financial structures

• Ability to lead large SAP FICO/FM/GM workstreams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working with business executives, finance directors, government stakeholders and technical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into SAP solutions.
• Experience mentoring SAP consultants and leading distributed teams.
• Strong documentation and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• SAP FICO certification preferred.
• SAP Public Sector / S/4HANA experience preferred.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance and Public Sector Management is highly desirable.
• Experience with large government or public-sector SAP transformation programs is strongly preferred.
