Solutions Architect

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise technology solutions supporting mission-critical applications and services. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across cloud platforms, data center technologies, Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, and containerized environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise solution architectures.
• Translate business, functional, and technical requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Design highly available, fault-tolerant, and disaster-resilient architectures.
• Evaluate existing infrastructure and develop cloud modernization and migration strategies.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
• Architect containerized solutions using VMware VKS, Red Hat OpenShift, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, AWS Lambda, and related AWS services.
• Design and support GitLab DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD solutions.
• Optimize solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Lead architecture reviews, technical assessments, and design validation activities.
• Develop architecture diagrams, interface specifications, technical design documents, and implementation plans.
• Support Authority to Operate (ATO) activities, continuous monitoring, and security assessments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers, developers, and infrastructure teams.
• Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and technical teams to identify risks and develop implementation strategies.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend appropriate solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Solutions Architecture experience.
• 5+ years developing business, application, and technology architectures.
• Strong data center and cloud architecture experience.
• Hands-on AWS and Azure experience in multiple accounts/subscriptions.
• Experience provisioning and managing enterprise cloud services.
• Strong cloud networking experience including VPC, subnets, firewalls, security groups, VPN, Direct Connect, and ExpressRoute.
• Experience with Terraform HCL and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience managing GitLab pipelines and CI/CD.
• Strong Git version control and branching/release management experience.
• Experience deploying applications to AWS and Azure Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with VMware VKS and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Experience developing Dockerfiles and Helm charts.
• 5+ years of Linux and Windows systems engineering/administration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to mentor technical teams and influence architecture decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with AWS GovCloud.
• Experience with federal government environments.
• Experience with ATO, security assessments, and continuous monitoring.
• Experience with enterprise modernization and cloud migration.
• Experience with DevSecOps and cloud security best practices.
