Location: Austin, TX (Preferred) OR Sunnyvale, CA

 

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP S/4HANA Consultant with strong technical expertise in SAP ABAP development, S/4HANA implementations, code remediation, and system integrations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting S/4HANA transformation initiatives, developing custom ABAP solutions, enhancing existing applications, and implementing scalable integrations using SAP technologies. Experience with S/4HANA Brownfield implementations is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support SAP ABAP solutions across enterprise applications.

• Participate in S/4HANA implementation and transformation projects, including code remediation activities.

• Analyze and remediate custom ABAP objects for S/4HANA compatibility and performance optimization.

• Develop and enhance Reports, SmartForms, SAP Scripts, and custom programs.

• Build and support OData Services, Web Services, and API-based integrations.

• Design and develop Object-Oriented ABAP solutions following SAP development best practices.

• Create and support SAP Web Dynpro applications and integrations with SAP Portal environments.

• Develop, monitor, and troubleshoot interfaces utilizing ALE, IDOC, RFC, BAPI, and Flat File technologies.

• Implement enhancements using SAP enhancement techniques, including User Exits, BADIs, BTEs, and the New Enhancement Framework.

• Support SAP upgrades and enhancement pack implementations, including SPAU and SPDD activities.

• Collaborate with functional consultants and business stakeholders to gather requirements and develop technical solutions.

• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolution activities.

• Ensure application performance, stability, scalability, and adherence to SAP development standards.

• Prepare technical design documents, functional specifications, and support documentation.

• Provide production support, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement recommendations.

 

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.

• 3+ years of SAP S/4HANA implementation experience, including code remediation activities.

• Strong experience with S/4HANA conversion or migration projects.

• Proven expertise in Reports, SmartForms, SAP Scripts, Web Dynpro, and OOABAP development.

• Experience developing and consuming OData Services and Web Services.

• Strong experience with ALE/IDOC, RFC, BAPI, and interface development.

• Hands-on experience with SAP Enhancement Framework, including BADI and BTE implementations.

• Experience supporting SPAU and SPDD remediation activities during upgrades and migrations.

• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional project environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Brownfield S/4HANA implementation projects.

• Exposure to SAP HANA development and optimization techniques.

• Experience integrating SAP applications with enterprise systems and portals.

• SAP certification in ABAP development or related SAP technologies.

 

Certification

Preferred:

• SAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP with SAP NetWeaver (or equivalent SAP ABAP certification).
