Programmer/Analyst III (Senior Data Engineer) to design, develop, and support scalable cloud-based data solutions that enable accurate financial, regulatory, and operational reporting. This role will play a critical part in building enterprise data pipelines, implementing automated data quality controls, and orchestrating workflows that deliver trusted, high-quality data across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on data engineering professional with deep expertise in
AWS, Python, PySpark, Apache Airflow, and data integration technologies, as well as experience collaborating with Finance, Data Operations, Architecture, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud-native data pipelines and data integration solutions.
- Build and support AWS Glue jobs using Python and PySpark for large-scale data processing.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain Apache Airflow workflows and DAGs to orchestrate enterprise data pipelines.
- Implement automated data quality, validation, reconciliation, and monitoring frameworks to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into sustainable technical solutions.
- Integrate data from multiple enterprise sources, including Snowflake, Oracle, APIs, file systems, and third-party platforms.
- Optimize data processing performance and troubleshoot production issues across AWS data platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Data Operations, Architecture, and business stakeholders, to support reporting and analytics initiatives.
- Monitor and maintain production environments, including incident management, root cause analysis, and performance tuning.
- Implement and support CI/CD processes, version control standards, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical design reviews, architectural discussions, and best practices.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, industry trends, and cloud data engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, data modeling, data quality, and related data management disciplines.
- 3+ years of experience working in cross-functional environments and partnering with business stakeholders on enterprise data initiatives.
- Strong experience with SQL, database programming, and data preparation technologies.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects, mentor team members, and make sound technical decisions.
- Experience supporting production systems, managing incidents, and performing performance optimization.
Preferred Qualifications Data Engineering & Cloud Technologies - Expert-level experience developing and supporting AWS Glue jobs using Python (PySpark).
- Extensive experience with Apache Airflow, including designing, implementing, and supporting production workflows and DAGs.
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and PySpark.
- Experience building and supporting scalable data pipelines handling high volumes of structured and semi-structured data.

DevOps & Infrastructure - Experience with source control and CI/CD tools such as Git, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Understanding of AWS security best practices, including IAM roles, encryption, Secrets Manager, and least privilege access.
Additional Preferred Qualifications - Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience leading technical discussions and mentoring junior developers.
- Prior experience in banking, financial services, or regulatory reporting environments is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks such as FR Y-14, CCAR, CECL, Call Reports, OFSAA, or similar financial reporting platforms.
