Job Description:

The Proofpoint Email Operations Engineer (Tier 2) provides advanced operational support for enterprise email services, with a primary focus on Proofpoint email gateway operations, message tracing, quarantine investigations, spam and false-positive analysis, and delivery troubleshooting.

This role serves as the Tier 2 escalation point for Service Desk email-related incidents and requests, bridging end-user support, messaging platforms, and vendor support.

The position is strictly operational and does not perform security engineering, policy creation, or security tuning within Proofpoint.

Please provide the TOP skills, and the years of experience that you ll consider:

3+ years in enterprise email operations, messaging support, or email

3+ gateway support

Hands-on experience with Proofpoint operational workflows (message search, quarantine investigation, case management) Strong understanding of email flow concepts (SMTP, headers, bounces, authentication signals) Experience supporting Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online environments ITSM experience (incident, request, problem management)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting phishing-reporting workflows
• Exposure to transactional or application email relay environments
• Vendor support case ownership experience
• Strong written communication skills for customer-facing updates
