Senior Solution Architect Energy Trading & ETRM (Azure)

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale solutions within a global Energy Trading & Supply environment. This role will play a critical part in implementing a modern, cloud-native Energy Trade and Risk Management (ETRM) platform on Microsoft Azure, enabling scalable, secure, and data-driven trading capabilities.

The successful candidate will act as a technical authority across multiple initiatives, owning end-to-end solution architecture while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, security, and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Own and drive end-to-end solution architecture for Trading & ETRM platforms.

• Act as design authority, leading architectural decisions across complex portfolios.

• Provide architectural governance, including participation in architecture review boards.

• Ensure all solutions align with enterprise reference architectures and IT standards.

• Translate business requirements into pragmatic, implementable technical designs.

Trading & ETRM Domain

• Architect solutions supporting the full trading lifecycle from deal capture through settlement.

• Work closely with Trading, Risk, Operations, and Finance stakeholders.

• Design integration patterns around ETRM platforms (e.g., OpenLink Endur).

• Support physical and financial commodity trading use cases.

Cloud & Platform Architecture (Azure)

• Lead architecture for cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.

• Design and govern microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures.

• Define migration and modernization strategies for legacy systems.

• Ensure solutions meet performance, resilience, and security requirements.

Data & Integration

• Design enterprise data architectures using Data Mesh / Medallion patterns.

• Architect real-time and batch data pipelines.

• Ensure data governance, security, lineage, and auditability.

• Integrate ETRM, analytics, reporting, and downstream systems.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Serve as trusted advisor to business and technology leaders.

• Mentor engineers and architects across delivery teams.

• Facilitate cross-functional design workshops and decision forums.

• Champion architectural excellence and continuous improvement.

Required Experience & Skills

Essential

• 10+ years experience in software and solution architecture.

• Strong background in Energy or Commodities Trading systems.

• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale solutions in Azure.

• End-to-end understanding of Trading business processes.

• Experience working with ETRM platforms (e.g., OpenLink Endur).

• Strong knowledge of microservices, APIs, event-driven systems.

• Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership skills.
