Our client, a leading national retailer known for delivering innovative, personalized customer experiences across digital and in-store channels, is seeking a Data Operations Analyst to support its Customer Data Platform (CDP) team. This team plays a critical role in enabling data-driven marketing initiatives, audience insights, customer identity management, and personalization capabilities that enhance customer engagement and business performance.
As a Data Operations Analyst, you will work with cross-functional teams including data engineering, data science, product management, marketing, and analytics to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and usability of customer data. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, experience working with large datasets, and a passion for improving data quality and reporting processes.

Job Description
The Data Operations Analyst will support key Customer Data Platform initiatives by providing data analysis, operational reporting, data validation, and process improvement expertise. This role will focus on maintaining reporting solutions, monitoring data quality, identifying data issues, and documenting operational processes that support business-critical customer data programs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, update, and maintain operational, audience, and performance dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.
  • Write and execute SQL queries to analyze, validate, reconcile, and troubleshoot large datasets.
  • Monitor data pipelines and identify anomalies, inconsistencies, or quality issues.
  • Investigate data discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and document findings.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and analytics teams to resolve data-related issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation including data definitions, business rules, reporting methodologies, and validation procedures.
  • Support recurring operational reporting and identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
  • Improve dashboard functionality, reporting efficiency, and overall data accessibility.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements, validate outputs, and support project deliverables.
  • Contribute to Customer Data Platform initiatives by ensuring timely completion of assigned analysis and reporting activities.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience in data operations, data analytics, business intelligence, or a related technical field.
  • Experience working with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), customer identity solutions, audience management platforms, or marketing technology ecosystems.
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience querying, analyzing, validating, and reconciling large datasets.
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
  • Knowledge of data quality monitoring, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience documenting data processes, reporting standards, and operational procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively communicating technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of customer analytics, loyalty programs, retail analytics, merchandising, or marketing measurement.
  • Experience supporting cloud-based data processing, reporting, and validation workflows within GCP and BigQuery environments.
  • Proficiency with Python, scripting, or advanced business intelligence capabilities used to automate reporting and analysis.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with product and engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience improving reporting processes through automation and workflow optimization.
