Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring MTS Software Development Eng. to Research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Plan, design, develop and/or test software systems for software enhancements and new products with focus in automation and control. Plan the software test infrastructure. Build automated test pipelines on Jenkins, driving towards full automation coverage within a continuous integration environment. Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments. Participate in code reviews, creating unit tests, authoring detailed documentation related to your work, and working with on-site and offshore teams to deliver the automation solutions on schedule. Partake in all phases of the software development including system requirements analysis, coordinating feature design and development across functional and organization boundaries. Utilize expertise with computers and electronics, including hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field, and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following:
  • GUI Test automation;
  • Python, C, or C++;
  • Automation and tool development;
  • Data engineering and DevOps;
  • Source code control solutions, including Git;
  • Entire software lifecycle, including Gathering Requirements, Design, Development, Testing, and Maintenance;
  • Computer hardware architecture and firmware components;
  • Using standard REST API;
  • Linux and Windows system internals;
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines; and
  • JIRA issue and project tracking software.
