Summary

We are seeking experienced technical professionals to provide development, production support, and deep diagnostic expertise for a large, mission-critical legacy commercial loan accounting platform. This highly customized system is based on Level 3 from AFS, built in COBOL and operating through a 3270 interface, with extensive online transaction processing via CICS and a complex VSAM master file architecture.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Enhancement

Maintain and enhance COBOL-based mainframe applications supporting commercial loan accounting.
Implement new features and optimize existing code for performance and reliability.

Production Support & Diagnostics

Provide L2/L3 support for mission-critical applications, ensuring system stability and availability.
Perform deep diagnostic analysis, troubleshoot incidents, and deliver permanent resolutions.
Manage large-scale batch processing environments using CA7 scheduling, coordinating complex inbound and outbound file exchanges.

System Integration

Support real-time integrations, including synchronous web-based interactions via CICS Web Services (CWSDirect).
Manage asynchronous messaging and system interoperability through MQ.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with deconversion teams and interface partners across multiple upstream and downstream systems.
Document processes, provide clear technical communication, and ensure smooth coordination in a highly interdependent environment.

🛠️ Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2.
Experience with CA7 scheduling and large-scale batch environments.
Hands-on knowledge of CICS Web Services (CWSDirect) and MQ messaging.
Proven ability to support and troubleshoot mission-critical financial applications.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in complex mainframe environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

🌟 Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with AFS Level 3 or similar commercial loan accounting platforms.
Familiarity with legacy-to-modernization initiatives and system deconversion projects.
Background in financial services or banking technology.
