Low Voltage Electrical ApprenticeA Low Voltage Electrical Apprentice supports the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low-voltage systems in commercial, industrial, and construction environments. This role includes working with data, voice, security, fire alarm, audiovisual, and other low-voltage infrastructure while learning industry standards and hands-on techniques under the guidance of lead technicians
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the installation, routing, and termination of low-voltage cabling including Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A, coax, and fiber optic cables.
- Support the installation and setup of systems such as access control, CCTV, intrusion alarms, fire alarm systems, intercoms, Wi-Fi access points, and audiovisual equipment.
- Pull cable through conduit, walls, ceilings, cable trays, and other pathways while following safety and installation standards.
- Help build, mount, and dress network racks, patch panels, cable trays, and device backboards.
- Label, document, and organize cabling in accordance with project and code requirements.
- Assist in troubleshooting system issues using testing tools such as toners, multimeters, and network testers.
- Read and interpret simple schematics, drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and jobsite cleanliness; follow safety protocols at all times.
- Support lead technicians on installations, upgrades, retrofits, or service calls.
- Learn proper industry practices, NEC guidelines, and low-voltage standards through hands-on training and mentorship.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications- Basic understanding of electrical or low-voltage systems (or willingness to learn).
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Ability to work on ladders, lifts, attics, crawl spaces, and active construction sites.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and ability to follow directions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Any previous experience in construction, cabling, telecom, or security is a plus.
- Certifications such as OSHA 10, CPR/First Aid, or manufacturer-specific training are beneficial but not required.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $30.00/hr.
