Summary

As a Data Scientist, you will join a highly collaborative team of data scientist, AI engineer, and analytics professionals focused on transforming how HR and IT Corporate Systems use data, analytics, and artificial intelligence to drive business outcomes. You will develop innovative AI and machine learning solutions that enable smarter decision making, improve workforce experiences, and unlock insights at scale.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of advanced analytics, business strategy, and emerging AI technologies. You will partner closely with HR, Corporate Systems, and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and deliver impactful solutions that create measurable value. From predictive modeling and generative AI applications to workforce analytics and intelligent decision support tools, you will help shape the future of AI-driven capabilities across the enterprise.

You will have the opportunity to:
  • Develop and deploy machine learning, predictive analytics, and AI solutions to address business challenges.
  • Build scalable analytics products and AI-enabled tools that improve decision making and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and translate business needs into analytical solutions.
  • Leverage modern cloud, data science, and AI technologies to deliver innovative products and services.
  • Communicate analytical insights and recommendations to diverse audiences, including senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, analysts, and product partners to bring solutions from concept to production.
  • Contribute to the adoption of emerging AI capabilities, including generative AI, agentic workflows, and advanced analytics applications.
  • Help establish best practices for responsible AI, model governance, and scalable analytics delivery.

You will be part of a dynamic Analytics and AI team that drives innovation across HR and Corporate Services. Our team combines advanced analytics, data science, machine learning, and AI product development to solve strategic business challenges and improve employee and business outcomes.

We are focused on delivering practical, impactful solutions that move beyond analysis to create enterprise capabilities. Whether developing AI-powered assistants, workforce analytics products, predictive models, or decision intelligence solutions, our team plays a critical role in accelerating Vanguard's adoption of data-driven and AI-enabled decision making.

Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential as you will work across business, technology, analytics, and product teams. Success in this role requires intellectual curiosity, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Analytics, or a related quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience applying data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics in a business environment.
  • Experience developing and deploying predictive models, machine learning solutions, or AI-driven applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and modern analytical tools and frameworks.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets to generate actionable insights.
  • Ability to translate business problems into analytical approaches and communicate results effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a passion for leveraging data and AI to drive business value.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience in applying Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, or other emerging AI technologies.
  • Experience with cloud-based analytics and AI platforms.
  • Experience developing analytics products, decision support tools, or enterprise AI solutions.
  • Knowledge of workforce, HR, talent, organizational, or people analytics is a plus.
