About the Role
Our client, a leading enterprise in the retail and e-commerce industry, is seeking an experienced Java Springboot Developer to support large-scale, high-visibility initiatives. This role contributes to modernizing and enhancing complex microservices and API ecosystems that drive a major nationwide retail operation. The position follows a hybrid approach—leveraging Agile development principles within a broader program that operates on waterfall-aligned timelines.

Job Description
In this role, you will develop and enhance Java-based microservices and APIs using the SpringBoot framework. You will translate high-level architectural designs into detailed low-level designs and clean, maintainable code that meets engineering standards and software design patterns. Responsibilities include participating in design reviews, code reviews, testing, debugging, automation, and implementation activities. You will ensure all deliverables meet performance, scalability, security, and operational requirements. This role requires close collaboration across engineering teams and consistent adherence to Agile development practices.

Qualifications
Required

5+ years of development experience with Java and the SpringBoot framework.
Experience building microservices and API development using modern engineering principles.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tooling.
Proficiency with Git for version control and collaborative development.
Experience with Postgres or similar relational database technologies.
Ability to apply architectural guidance, generate low-level designs, and produce clean, maintainable code.
Experience participating in design reviews, code reviews, testing, debugging, and implementation activities.
Strong understanding of Agile development principles and ability to deliver within defined program timelines.

Preferred

Experience with Artifactory or similar artifact management tools.
Background working with large datasets or large-scale data processing.
Experience building or integrating large-scale interfaces.
Previous experience working in a large retail technology environment.
Familiarity with systems and platforms commonly used within major retail enterprises.
