Role Overview
This is an opportunity to step into a senior engineering role where your work directly impacts large-scale, distributed systems. This position involves the design, development, implementation, testing, and delivery of multi-tiered software applications, tools, and services. You will own critical components from design through deployment and operational support while working in a technical, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and own large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems.
- Serve as a technical lead on complex projects, contributing to architectural decisions.
- Write production-grade code and support systems that run at scale.
- Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Develop primarily in Java, with exposure to C++.
- Work in a Linux-based, cloud-native environment.
- Produce comprehensive and usable technical documentation.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required. A Bachelor's degree in a related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience will be accepted as an equivalent.
Experience: At least three years of professional software development experience, including two years of system architecture or design. Experience must include multi-threaded and distributed programming in Java or C++ on a Linux platform.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java, JDBC, SQL, and Object-Oriented design patterns is required. Experience must also include strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, system design, cloud computing (AWS), version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience with this organization.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and data modeling.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CDK).
- Experience with DevOps or SRE practices.
- Familiarity with building AI Agents.
- Technical leadership experience and Agile methodologies.
- Frontend development experience.
