About NOV Fiber Glass Systems

NOV Fiber Glass Systems (FGS) designs and manufactures high-performance fiberglass piping systems used in industries such as oil & gas, water treatment, chemicals, and infrastructure. Our Burkburnett facility plays a key role in delivering durable, corrosion-resistant solutions while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Position Summary

The Engineering Intern will support engineering and operations activities at the Burkburnett facility by assisting with process improvements, data analysis, and production support initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and the opportunity to work alongside engineers and cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, quality, and overall performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with process improvement projects to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste
  • Collect, analyze, and report on production and quality data
  • Support troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis for manufacturing issues
  • Assist in developing and updating work instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams on daily operations and projects
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures

Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or related)
  • Completed at least sophomore-level coursework preferred
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, data analysis, or CAD software
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts

Work Environment & Conditions
  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment
  • Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) while in production areas
  • May involve standing, walking, and observing operations for extended periods
  • Schedule may vary based on project and production needs
