Job Title: Senior Payroll Coordinator
Location: Irving, TX (Hybrid)
Duration: Through September 2026
Schedule: Part-Time (20-25 Hours per Week)
IMPORTANT NOTES
- This is a project-based contract role through the end of September 2026.
- No extension or conversion opportunities are anticipated.
- Initial onsite requirement is 2 days per week (Monday & Tuesday); transitioning to 1 day per week as the project progresses.
- Candidates must be able to work independently and hit the ground running with minimal training.
- Dayforce experience is required. No exceptions.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Coordinator to support payroll operations during a major HR and Payroll transition project. The ideal candidate will have strong Dayforce expertise, multi-state payroll experience, and the ability to independently manage payroll processing with minimal supervision.
This role will partner with Payroll, HR, Benefits, Accounting, and third-party vendors to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for approximately 450 employees.
Required Qualifications:
MUST HAVE
- Hands-on experience with Dayforce Payroll (Ceridian Dayforce).
- Experience pulling and generating reports within Dayforce.
- Experience processing bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll.
- Experience supporting multi-state payroll operations.
- Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, compliance requirements, and payroll reconciliations.
- Experience processing payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing & Administration
- Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for approximately 450 employees.
- Audit employee changes, including new hires, terminations, status changes, and payroll updates.
- Review and validate time records from the time management system.
- Process manual checks and payroll adjustments as needed.
- Ensure accurate federal, state, and local tax withholdings.
- Reconcile payroll reports and financial data.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
Compliance & System Administration
- Interpret and apply payroll policies, including vacation, leave of absence, disability, workers'' compensation, and withholding requirements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Assist with payroll audits, tax filings, and supporting documentation.
- Configure and maintain payroll system settings, including earnings, deductions, garnishments, and tax tables.
- Maintain payroll and time management system configurations.
- Serve as a liaison between employees and third-party payroll vendors.
Reporting & Vendor Coordination
- Generate payroll reports for Accounting, HR, and Benefits teams.
- Create and upload payroll tax and direct deposit files.
- Pull and analyze reports directly from Dayforce.
Projects
- Support payroll-related transition activities and special projects as assigned.
- Assist with process improvements and documentation efforts.
Interview Process:
- One 30-minute Microsoft Teams interview with the hiring manager.
- Hiring decision expected by the end of next week.
