Principal Power IC Architect

Expand your design expertise in high-performance power management solutions on advanced semiconductor processes and help solve some of the most complex power-delivery challenges in AI and high-performance computing.

Empower Semiconductor, an Analog Devices company, is redefining power delivery through groundbreaking high-frequency and high-density power converter technology for AI processors, data centers, and advanced computing applications.

We are seeking a Principal Power IC Architect to lead the development of our next generation of products. In this role, you will own Power IC architecture and development from concept through production, collaborating across engineering disciplines to deliver innovative power-management solutions that push the boundaries of performance, efficiency, and power density.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complete Power IC development programs from architecture through production release.
  • Define top-level chip architecture, subsystem partitioning, and verification strategy.
  • Design critical power-management and analog circuit blocks at the transistor level.
  • Drive technical execution across design, layout, verification, applications, test, and product engineering teams.
  • Guide top-level IC integration, floorplanning, and layout development.
  • Lead design reviews and ensure successful tapeout execution.
  • Drive first-silicon bring-up, detailed characterization, debug, and root-cause analysis.
  • Develop and support test strategies, product qualification, and production ramp activities.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong experience in Power Management IC (PMIC), analog IC, or mixed-signal IC design.
  • Experience developing switching converters, including power-stage and control architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a complete IC, major subsystem, or complex power-management product.
  • Hands-on transistor-level circuit design experience.
  • Experience with silicon bring-up, characterization, and debug.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and advanced CMOS processes.
  • Proficiency with Cadence design and verification tools.
  • Excellent communication, technical leadership, and project execution skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading Power IC products from concept through mass production.
  • Experience serving as technical lead, architect, or chip-level owner.
  • Experience with FinFET or other advanced semiconductor technologies.
  • Experience designing power-management solutions for AI, data-center, networking, CPU, GPU, or high-performance computing applications.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: Voltage and current referencesVoltage regulators and LDOsCurrent sensing and protection circuitsADCs, DACs, and PLLsAnalog amplifiers and control loopsTemperature sensors and mixed-signal building blocks

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $180,642 to $261,579.
