Role Overview
This role involves designing and implementing manufacturing solutions to transition robotics products from concept to production. The position focuses on driving quality excellence across global supply chains. You will work to transform robotics designs into manufacturable products by partnering with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply Design for X (DFX) principles to transition robotic solutions and mechatronic systems from design to production.
- Develop and qualify suppliers while managing product lifecycle changes across global supply chains.
- Lead cross-functional quality improvement projects and perform technical root cause analysis for supplier defects.
- Design and develop manufacturing test solutions for robotics systems.
- Implement manufacturing systems for scalability, with a focus on gearbox assembly, stator winding, rotor manufacturing, and motor integration.
- Collaborate with global design teams to influence product designs and ensure manufacturability.
- Review design specifications and provide DFX feedback to optimize for manufacturing.
- Conduct supplier assessments and capability studies at manufacturer facilities.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
Experience: Experience applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), or Design for X principles is necessary. Candidates should have experience with manufacturing processes including injection molding, machining, sheet metal fabrication, or electronics assembly, as well as experience working with contract manufacturers and managing supplier relationships.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of quality systems and methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is required. Experience with CAD software, technical drawing interpretation, and an understanding of statistical process control and capability analysis are also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience with robotics, mechatronics, or electromechanical systems manufacturing.
- Experience leading New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from prototype to mass production.
- Knowledge of test engineering principles and automated test equipment development.
- Experience with failure analysis techniques including FMEA and 8D.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies and smart manufacturing systems.
- Experience working in global manufacturing environments.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $39.00 and $49.00 per hour. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
