Job Description:

The Senior IT Development Manager - GenAI & Agentic AI Solutions leads the strategy, design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions across the organization. This role is accountable for building scalable, secure, and compliant AI platforms and use cases, while also engaging with third-party AI vendors to onboard and integrate vendor-led solutions in alignment with Information Security, Model Risk Management (MRM), Privacy, and regulatory requirements.

The role provides deep technical and delivery leadership, operates with a high degree of autonomy, and partners closely with business, architecture, risk, InfoSec, Legal, and compliance teams to ensure AI capabilities are delivered safely, responsibly, and at scale.

Key Responsibilities

GenAI & Agentic AI Delivery Leadership
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions, including LLM-based applications, AI agents, orchestration frameworks, and decision automation capabilities.
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns for GenAI and agent-based systems across the enterprise.
  • Drive the adoption of secure AI development practices, including prompt governance, model evaluation, human-in-the-loop controls, and explainability considerations.
  • Oversee complex, multi-stream AI initiatives spanning multiple applications, platforms, and lines of business.

Vendor Engagement & Solution Onboarding
  • Lead evaluation, onboarding, and integration of third-party AI and GenAI vendor solutions, including SaaS, platforms, and embedded AI capabilities.
  • Partner with vendors to assess architecture, data flows, model usage, and operational controls to meet internal technology and risk standards.
  • Coordinate vendor onboarding across Technology, Information Security, Privacy, Legal, Sourcing, and Risk teams to support timely approvals and deployment.

Risk, InfoSec & Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure all AI solutions (internal and vendor-led) comply with Information Security, data protection, privacy, and regulatory expectations.
  • Partner closely with Model Risk Management (MRM) to support model classification, documentation, validation, and ongoing monitoring requirements.
  • Support regulatory examinations, audits, and internal governance forums related to AI usage, controls, and technology risk.
  • Embed AI governance and control requirements into delivery processes to enable "secure-by-design" outcomes.

People & Delivery Management
  • Directly and indirectly manage a large and diverse team of IT professionals (engineering managers, software engineers, architects, QE, and contractors) delivering AI solutions.
  • Set clear delivery priorities, funding alignment, and execution plans across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Coach and develop talent in modern AI engineering practices, cloud-native development, and responsible AI delivery.

Strategic Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as a trusted technology advisor to senior business and technology leaders on GenAI and Agentic AI strategy, risks, and investment trade-offs.
  • Monitor external industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activity related to AI adoption in financial services.
  • Collaborate with peer leaders to define enterprise AI roadmaps and support broader transformation initiatives.

Depth & Scope:
  • Deep expertise and knowledge of Bank, technology standards and leading large and varied teams of professionals
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of businesses and/or organizational practices/ disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to own function / business
  • Directs/manages a large and diverse group / team of IT professionals (e.g. up to 50) focused on complex development, system enhancements, new releases, large-scale applications / projects across multiple product lines / businesses, involving significant scope and complexity
  • Sets operational team direction and works autonomously in the management of the unit and collaborates with others to establish and execute on common goals

Education & Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • Graduate degree, preferred
  • 10+ years related experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Progressive technology leadership experience, including experience delivering complex, large-scale systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Generative AI / LLM-based systems
    • Cloud-native and API-driven architectures
    • Vendor solution onboarding and third-party risk management
    • Information Security, MRM, and regulated-environment delivery
