Hardware Validation Engineer

• The Hardware Validation Engineer will be responsible for performing hardware and software validation testing on server platforms in a lab environment.
• The role involves system bring-up, debugging, failure analysis, and validation of CPU, memory, and system components while leveraging scripting and AI-assisted tools to improve debugging efficiency and validation processes.

Requirement/Must Have:

• AAS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field required.
• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 1 to 5 years of experience in hardware validation or lab-based engineering roles.
• Experience with server or PC hardware and system architecture.
• Exposure to Windows and Linux OS installation and configuration.
• Basic knowledge of Python scripting or automation tools.
• Understanding of hardware debugging and log analysis concepts.

Experience:

• Experience performing hardware and software validation testing on server platforms.
• Experience in system bring-up including CPU, DIMMs, OS, and software setup.
• Experience installing, swapping, and validating hardware components such as CPUs and memory modules.
• Experience in debugging hardware/software issues and performing root cause analysis.
• Experience working in lab environments supporting hardware validation and failure analysis.
• Experience maintaining lab inventory and equipment status tracking.
• Experience documenting test procedures, validation results, and debug findings.

Responsibilities:

• Perform hardware and software validation testing on server platforms.
• Build, configure, and bring up systems including CPU, memory, and OS/software setup.
• Install, swap, and validate CPUs, DIMMs, and system components.
• Debug and triage hardware and software issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Support hardware debugging and failure analysis in lab environments.
• Use Python and Linux-based tools to improve debug and validation efficiency.
• Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and Claude for log analysis and scripting support.
• Explore and apply AI-driven workflows to automate repetitive validation tasks.
• Maintain lab systems, inventory, and equipment tracking.
• Document test procedures, validation results, and debugging findings.
• Communicate status updates and escalate technical risks as needed.
• Manage multiple validation tasks in a fast-paced lab environment.

Should Have:

• Experience with DDR5 and DIMM architecture.
• Familiarity with BIOS flashing tools and utilities.
• Experience reading schematics and analyzing electrical signals and voltage rails.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Exposure to AI-assisted engineering workflows and prompt engineering.
• Interest in automation and productivity improvement using AI tools.
