About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Infrastructure Security Engineer to lead hands-on security and infrastructure remediation initiatives within a Microsoft Azure environment. This role is focused on execution, not advisory work. You will be responsible for implementing security controls, improving cloud infrastructure, supporting SOC 2 audit activities, and driving assigned workstreams through completion.
The ideal candidate has deep Azure expertise, strong cloud security experience, and a proven track record of deploying and securing enterprise-scale environments.
What You'll Do- Design, implement, and remediate Azure infrastructure and security controls.
- Configure and optimize Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft Entra ID security services.
- Implement and manage privileged access controls, including PIM, Conditional Access, and service principal governance.
- Design and deploy Azure networking solutions, including:
- Hub-and-spoke architectures
- Private Endpoints and Private Link
- Application Gateway / WAF
- Azure Traffic Manager
- Network Security Groups (NSGs)
- Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform or Bicep.
- Automate deployments and administrative tasks using Azure CLI and PowerShell.
- Support SOC 2 audits by generating and documenting evidence, logs, screenshots, reports, and configuration artifacts.
- Track work through JIRA, communicate status effectively, and partner with engineering and product teams to drive tasks to completion.
Minimum Qualifications- 7+ years of infrastructure engineering experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on Azure engineering experience at a senior level.
- Proven experience performing Azure security remediation and implementation work.
- Experience designing and implementing Azure Traffic Manager profiles for multi-region production environments.
- Strong expertise with:
- Microsoft Defender for Cloud
- Microsoft Sentinel
- Microsoft Entra ID (PIM, Conditional Access, service principals)
- Experience with Terraform or Bicep.
- Strong Azure CLI and PowerShell skills.
- AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert) and/or AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer) certification.
- Ability to quickly locate, export, and document Azure audit evidence.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications- Advanced Azure networking expertise.
- SOC 2 audit or financial-services compliance experience.
- SQL Server on Azure VMs and Azure SQL experience.
- .NET and Azure App Service familiarity.
- Cloudflare DNS experience.
- Azure Well-Architected Framework review experience.
