Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Senior Product Designer for a contract position with a Leading Technology Firm located in Austin, TX. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. As the sole designer on a small, fast-moving team of AI builders, you will be responsible for shipping production-grade internal tools for the content organization. This role involves owning the end-to-end design process across various product surfaces, including dashboards, workflow automation tools, CRM systems, and AI-powered reporting, to ensure a consistent, high-quality user experience.
Responsibilities: - Own end-to-end design (research, interaction, visual, shipped UI) across 4-6 internal product surfaces
- Establish and maintain a lightweight design system to ensure consistency
- Design interaction patterns for AI-native workflows such as agent supervision, automated triage, and intelligent recommendations
- Collaborate directly with senior engineers in a pod-based model for fast iteration
- Simplify complex, multi-source data views into single-screen experiences
- Design end-to-end UX for an internal AI-powered dashboard used by over 100 users
- Conduct user research and usability testing with internal stakeholders
Requirements: - 5+ years of experience designing complex internal tools, enterprise SaaS, or developer platforms
- Strong interaction design and information architecture skills, with a portfolio demonstrating the ability to simplify complex workflows
- Proven ability to operate as the sole designer on an engineering-heavy team with a self-directed work style
- A portfolio demonstrating relevant work is required
Desired skills: - AI development skills (e.g., Claude Code, Claude Design, Codex) with the ability to implement designs directly
- Experience designing for AI/ML-powered features or agentic systems
- Experience building and maintaining shared component libraries for design systems
Pay range: up to $88.86 per hour
