POSITION Sr. Structural Engineer LOCATION remote DURATION 12 months Contract
REQUIRED SKILLS . Senior Structural Engineers approximately 4 openings
Strong structural engineering background is critical.
Focus is on structural engineering, seismic qualification, and seismic isolation rather than traditional civil engineering.
Civil engineers focused primarily on site work, stormwater, etc. are not the target profile.
Nuclear experience is highly preferred and is close to a requirement, although they will consider strong candidates from related industries. PE license is preferred, but not an absolute requirement.
Candidates working toward a PE are worth considering; candidates with no intention of obtaining one are unlikely to be considered.
Nuclear design/design-construction experience is highly desirable.
Relevant codes/software should be reflected in the existing job description, including areas such as ASCE, ACI, IBC/IBC-related standards, Section III, etc.
2. Senior Mechanical/Piping Engineers approximately 4 openings
Primary focus is pipe stress analysis.
Experience with finite element analysis and piping design/analysis is important.
Experience supporting reactor/nuclear island piping and pressure vessels is highly desirable.
Oil & gas candidates may have transferable experience, but nuclear experience and/or PE credentials will make candidates significantly stronger.
Relevant piping codes include ASME B31.1, along with the other industry-standard nuclear codes/software listed in the job description.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The strongest candidates will ideally come from:
Nuclear engineering organizations
SMR companies
Large AEC firms such as Bechtel, Westinghouse, GE, etc.
Candidates with direct experience working on nuclear islands/reactor projects will stand out.
They are looking for genuine hands-on experience rather than candidates who simply have nuclear-related buzzwords on their resumes.
