Contract duration: 24 months
Target rate: $83.33 - 87/hr w2
Required Level of Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field and Minimum five years' experience in software development or a related field
Specific Systems Knowledge Required:
5+ years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 services in an enterprise environment.
Hands on experience with Microsoft Places or closely related workplace services (Exchange, Outlook, Teams, resource management).
Working knowledge of JavaScript (Node.js or browser based scripting).
Practical experience with MongoDB, including basic schema design and querying.
Experience troubleshooting complex, multi service Microsoft 365 environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document and explain technical solutions

Job Description: Microsoft Places Engineer - Level 3 (with Junior Development Focus)
Position Summary
The Level 3 Microsoft Places Engineer is a senior technical individual contributor responsible for the design, implementation, and operational support of Microsoft Places within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role combines deep Microsoft 365 and Places expertise with junior level application development responsibilities, supporting custom integrations, data workflows, and automation using MongoDB and JavaScript level application development responsibilities
The engineer partners closely with workplace services, collaboration, identity, and development teams to ensure Microsoft Places is reliable, scalable, and aligned with business and employee experience goals, while also contributing to lightweight application and data solutions that extend Places capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Microsoft Places Engineering (Primary)
- Serve as a Level 3 escalation point and subject matter expert for Microsoft Places configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Design, implement, and support Microsoft Places features including space management, location data, desk and room experiences, and employee presence insights.
- Integrate Microsoft Places with core Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Entra ID, Teams, Outlook, Graph).
- Monitor Places usage, performance, and adoption metrics; identify optimization and improvement opportunities.
- Partner with security, compliance, and identity teams to ensure Places implementations meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
