Overview
The Senior IT Project Manager (M&A) will lead complex, crossfunctional technology initiatives that support mergers, acquisitions, and organizational integrations. This role requires a seasoned project leader with deep experience managing IT workstreams during M&A events, including due diligence, integration planning, execution, and postclose stabilization. The ideal candidate brings strong communication, executive presence, and the ability to drive clarity and alignment across business, IT, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
M&A Program Leadership
- Lead endtoend IT project management for M&A initiatives, including due diligence, Day 1 readiness, integration planning, and postclose execution.
- Assess technology environments, risks, dependencies, and integration requirements across infrastructure, applications, data, security, and business systems.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations for all IT M&A workstreams.
CrossFunctional Coordination
- Partner closely with Business, Finance, HR, Legal, Operations, and external advisors to ensure alignment and seamless execution.
- Coordinate with technical SMEs across infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, ERP, CRM, and enterprise applications.
- Facilitate decisionmaking, issue resolution, and risk mitigation across multiple stakeholder groups.
Governance & Communication
- Provide clear, concise executivelevel reporting, including status updates, risk assessments, and integration progress.
- Establish governance structures, steering committees, and communication frameworks to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and thirdparty integration partners.
Execution Excellence
- Drive disciplined project delivery using PMI, Agile, or hybrid methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and datagovernance requirements during integration.
- Oversee cutover planning, testing, change management, and operational readiness for Day 1 and beyond.
Qualifications
Required
- 8 12+ years of IT Project Management experience, with at least 3 5 years focused on M&A initiatives.
- Proven success leading complex IT integrations, carveouts, or divestitures.
- Strong understanding of enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS), infrastructure, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executivelevel presentation skills.
- Experience managing crossfunctional teams and external vendors.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problemsolving abilities.
Preferred
- PMP, PgMP, or Agile certification.
- Experience in regulated industries (utilities, healthcare, financial services).
- Background working with global teams or multientity organizations.
- Familiarity with tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
