Job Description:
Clearance: Secret clearance or above is required for the start of the assignment.
Work Location: Candidate will need to be 100% onsite from the first day of assignment. There may be some flexibility down the road for some partial remote work, but it is dependent upon the nature of the projects being worked on.
Interview Process: Interview process will start with an initial zoom screen and then a second round IN PERSON interview with a wider group audience. In person interview is required for this role so local candidates only.
Description:
Maintains operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination of infrastructure and cloud responsibilities. Develops and designs core operating system builds. Responsible for coding, virtualization, and automation of systems. Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains an active directory of users and system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space. Assesses and resolves user access problems related to security controls to minimize business impact and risk exposure. Identifies and evaluates vendor products and establishes vendor monitoring and tracking processes. Performs capacity planning and monitors/tunes systems. Recommends appropriate platforms for purchase, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery. Serves as a point of escalation for major incidents that are unresolved at the helpdesk level. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. May draft general IT communications to end-users including notifications of outages/downtimes. Job Functions:
Looking for a Linux Systems Administrator with approximately 8 years of Linux administration experience (slightly more junior or senior is acceptable)
Responsible for management, administration, and support of all client systems infrastructure in Group.
Support additional technologies as they are adopted by the Laboratory.
Responsible for vulnerability remediation on secure and unclassified Laboratory systems. Addressing Cat 1, 2, 3 issues in a timely manner
Recognizing and troubleshooting issues with developer s machines as they occur across a variety of Operating Systems. Windows, Linux, Solaris, etc.
Perform all related duties as assigned.
Required Technical Skills:
Operating Systems: RedHat Enterprise Linux, VMware
Hardware: Dell
Software/applications: RedHat IDM, McAfee; Enterprise Central Logging, LDAP, Java, Splunk, SQL/VMware vCenter/ESXI/vSAN,Github.
Networking applications and protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, SSH, FTP and HTTP/S.
Programming Languages: Ansible, Shell Scripting, PowerShell.
Skilled at centralized authentication (SSSD, IDM, Active Directory) and centralized sudo administration via IDM
Responsible for configuring and maintaining (physical and virtual) servers and researcher workstations
Experience managing classified IT systems, STIGs, SCAPS, RMF
Must have prior experience working in sensitive / collateral operations
Security+ certification
Preferred Skills/Certifications:
Linux RealTime Kernel support experience is a bonus
Certification(s) in one or more of the following disciplines: Solaris administration, Red Hat, VMWare, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); Linux Professional Institute Certification.
Non-Technical Skills:
Candidates must be, team oriented, enthusiastic, innovative and motivated self-starters able to work independently, or with a group, to achieve program requirements.
Candidates must possess strong oral and written communications skills, and must be able to present findings/results to internal and external organizations.

Applicable Education and Professional Accreditation:
