Summary

Overview

The Senior Software Project Manager manages 1-4 key software development projects using Agile Software Development processes while understanding and maintaining Department of State SDLC processes as part of a team managing many projects. Focuses on leading Microsoft-based custom software applications but will be called upon to manage other applications for operations and maintenance phases if required. Software applications will include some on-prem applications being moved to MS Azure.

Responsibilities

  • Project and Program Management support for multiple software projects for the operational environment following the DS/CTO Project Management methodology; manage projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Manage leadership-championed special projects - software projects identifying an IT solution and software upgrades and consolidation at the enterprise level.
  • Provide critical information to Senior Management to include data collection, discovery, gap analysis, cost impact analysis, and process improvement for many projects/tasks and quarterly key performance indicator monitoring initiatives.
  • Manage, monitor, and report project risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and escalate issues to the government as needed.
  • Assist in the delivery of the Security Authorization and Assessment (A&A) process and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Manage large efforts through the A&A process at DS and enable project integration with other Project Managers managing software development projects that need the Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Provide guidance and leadership to multiple teams supporting the project and ensuring a common goal is communicated and understood to deliver a quality product.
  • Collaborate with intra- and inter-department resources and stakeholders to facilitate discussions and provide information dissemination in support of key mission initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree - Information or Computer Systems a plus.
  • Experience handling multiple projects at once.
  • Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Experience taking over management of projects at different levels of completion.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Working Conditions
  • Professional office environment, with the ability to work onsite in the main office.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.

Pay Range

USD $150,000.00 - USD $175,000.00 /Yr.
