Mechanical Engineer 1

Kratos Microwave Electronics, Inc., a Kratos' company, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer 1. This position is onsite at their San Jose facility.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.

Determines a course of action based on guidelines.
Works on problems of limited scope.
Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Complete mechanical design, drafting, and documentation tasks on new designs on an as-needed basis
Work is reviewed periodically based on a set of defined procedures or precedence.
Normally receives general instruction on work and new assignments.
Develops stable working relationships internally.
Exchanges standard/basic information with colleagues and immediate supervisor, project leaders and other professionals in the team./group.
Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in related field with little to no previous professional experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office / Work Station / Manufacturing / Shop Floor Environments.
Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones).

Salary Range: $70K-$80K
