Python / Java AI Engineer

Join our CM&T technology services team to design, develop, and deploy next-generation AI-powered enterprise applications. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions integrating modern AI/ML architectures with enterprise backend systems.

responsibilities:

• Design and develop AI/Generative AI solutions utilizing LLMs, AI frameworks, and conversational interfaces.
• Build and integrate robust backend AI services into enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
• Develop prompts, automation workflows, and AI orchestration components for complex chatbot and agent use cases.
• Fine-tune, evaluate, and optimize AI models for performance, accuracy, and enterprise scalability.

qualifications:

3-5+ years of software development experience with strong hands-on work in AI/Generative AI and Java-based application development.

Proficient programming skills in Python for AI/ML application construction.

Comprehensive experience with Generative AI architectures, LLMs, Prompt Engineering, RAG, and AI Agent frameworks.

Solid experience building enterprise microservices using Java and Spring Boot.

Must be willing to work 100% onsite in Overland Park, KS and comply with workplace vaccination updates.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Hands-on experience with modern cloud AI suites (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Google Vertex AI).

Familiarity with orchestration tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.

Experience utilizing vector databases, embeddings, and modern cloud-native container architectures (Docker, Kubernetes).
