About the Role

The Client is seeking an experienced Senior Workday Solution Architect Financials to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Workday Financials solutions. This role is ideal for a seasoned Workday professional who combines deep functional expertise with technical leadership and enjoys collaborating with diverse stakeholders across the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

Workday Financials Leadership

Lead requirements confirmation, solution design reviews, and gap analysis; recommend functional and technical solution options.
Architect and deliver scalable, integrated Workday Financials solutions aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
Design, configure, and optimize Workday Financials modules, including:
- Core Financials
- Banking & Settlements
- Accounting Center
- Revenue Management
- Contracts-to-Cash
- Record-to-Report
- Procure-to-Pay
- Grants and Projects

Grants & Compliance

Optimize Grants Management processes, including Pre- and Post-Award, Effort Certification, Subawards, Salary Cap, and Award Budget Plans.
Ensure compliance with US GAAP, federal grant regulations, and applicable public-sector financial standards.
Design robust security models, data governance strategies, and Foundation Data Model (FDM) structures to support compliance and reporting.

Technical & Integration Expertise

Partner with implementation vendors to design and optimize integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, BIRT, REST/SOAP APIs, and Prism Analytics.
Identify and implement Workday Extend solutions to address functional gaps and improve operational efficiency.
Lead development of advanced reports, dashboards, and analytics to support data-driven decision-making.

ERP Transformation & Reporting

Lead large-scale ERP migrations from legacy systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) to Workday, ensuring minimal disruption.
Automate key financial workflows such as payroll reconciliation, revenue recognition, expense processing, and subaward tracking.
Enhance financial visibility through scalable reporting and analytics frameworks tailored to organizational needs.

Required Qualifications

Workday Certifications: Active Workday Financials certifications (Core Financials, Banking & Settlements, Revenue Management, Grants Management, Accounting Center, Contracts-to-Cash), valid through 2025 R1.
ERP Experience:
- 10+ years of ERP implementation experience
- 7+ years hands-on experience with Workday Financials
Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Workday integrations, reporting, Prism Analytics, and Extend.
Compliance Expertise: Proven experience supporting US GAAP and federal grant compliance in Workday Financials implementations.
