We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Processing Tools team. This team is responsible for all tools that provide expert views into the media and metadata processing pipelines as well as engineering development and deployment tools for specialized media workflows that serve operations teams responsible for publishing content to Disney's DTC services.

Responsibilities
  • Write and Maintain Software Solutions: Design, write, test, and deploy high-quality code to develop reliable, maintainable software solutions.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with software engineers, product managers, and program managers to ensure technical solutions effectively support business goals and content strategies. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Production Support: Monitor and optimize production systems, ensuring platform stability, performance, and uptime.


Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience in programming with Backend and Frontend UI, proficient with one or more general purpose programming languages (Python, Java, Javascript, etc)
  • Desire to work in a start-up, fast-growth, or rapid-change environment
  • Problem-solving skills to identify the root cause
  • Solid communication skills - written, and oral
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and git source control
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AWS technologies and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience integrating media players into web applications
  • Solid understanding of web accessibility fundamentals.
  • Strong knowledge of web standards and new technologies.
  • Understanding of async programming models (events, callbacks, promises, async/await) and threading/concurrency
  • Understanding of source control concepts and systems, CI/CD pipelines and exposure to Git
  • Experience with build and deployment technologies such as Jenkins and Docker. Experience with messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, etc.)


#DISNEYTECH

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $148,700 to $199,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
