Job at a glance:

This is a long-term contract, with an initial term through 2026, planned for extension and/or permanent placement
Pay rate is $45-$49/hr W2 + eligible to sign up for benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401k) on day 1
Hybrid position, onsite 3 days/wk and remote 2 days/wk. Can sit at Client location in any of the following cities: Pittsburgh, PA; Strongsville, OH; Birmingham, AL; Farmers Branch, TX; Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: Monday–Friday, core hours 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM EST (flexibility required for team meetings outside EST)

Overview
We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Provisioning Group of a leading financial services organization. This team is responsible for building and maintaining infrastructure provisioning automation, managing hybrid platforms (on-premises and cloud), and enabling application teams to accelerate time to market. The role emphasizes Infrastructure as Code, automation tooling, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Participate in daily stand-ups and agile two-week sprints.
Work on Jira tasks and stories to deliver automation solutions.
Collaborate in working sessions with engineering teams to design scalable provisioning workflows.
Partner with teams outside the core group to align solutions with enterprise needs.
Support the creation, maintenance, and optimization of automation for server provisioning and service enablement.

Required Technical Skills

Infrastructure Automation: Ansible
Operating Systems: Windows, Linux
Scripting / Programming: Python, PowerShell

Project Context
This role supports a data center modernization initiative within the banking industry, aimed at creating advanced non-production testing environments. These environments enable robust and predictive performance testing to validate system resiliency and scalability. The initiative focuses on modernizing tools, standards, processes, governance, and metrics—enhancing the quality and speed of application delivery across online banking and other critical programs.
