Job description

Job Summary:
The Test Equipment Engineer is a key member of a cross-disciplinary team responsible for the design and development of robust test software and solutions for complex electro-mechanical systems associated with aircraft flight control components and systems. The role encompasses the development of automated and manual test equipment and technical support for test strategies, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications, regulatory standards, and customer requirements. This position will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams-including design, systems, and manufacturing engineering-to drive the continuous improvement of test methodologies and product quality.

Essential Job Functions:
Develop and document Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) aligned with product and customer requirements; support their implementation.
Provide technical expertise to cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with applicable aerospace standards such as RTCA DO-160, DO-178C, and military equivalents.
Innovate and collaborate with stakeholders to define high-performance test solutions that meet or exceed safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Estimate resources required to complete projects, including labor, materials, necessary skills, and duration.
Provide testability input to new product designs; support qualification programs to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
Design and document both manual and automated test equipment to support engineering development and manufacturing for new and existing programs.
Guide best practices for electrical system design and software development for multidisciplinary teams from a test strategy perspective.
Oversee development activities related to testing, simulation, and validation processes to ensure systems meet safety, performance, and reliability standards.
Support and review technical documentation, test plans, procedures, and reports.
Ensure all work is in compliance with company policies, procedures, and processes.

But what else? (advantages, specificities, etc.)

Other Requirements:

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in aerospace, with a focus on test equipment design/development or related engineering activities.
Experience with automated test system development/programming, using National Instruments LabVIEW, TestStand, and LabWindows/CVI.
Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD) is desired.
This position may require access to information or hardware subject to ITAR. All applicants must be U.S. persons as per ITAR requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong background in the design and support of automated and manual test equipment for electro-mechanical systems.
Experience developing requirements and procedures that align with commercial and military specifications (e.g., RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-704/461/810).
Familiarity with environmental and reliability testing methods (e.g., altitude, temperature, shock, vibration, EMI, HALT), with an emphasis on designing for these environments rather than executing tests.
Proficient in the use of data acquisition systems and related software controls.
Able to read and interpret schematic diagrams (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic), mechanical and software block diagrams.
Expertise in programming and scripting (LabVIEW, TestStand, C, C++, C#, Python, MATLAB, etc.) for test equipment automation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing and presentation.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in root cause analysis, issue resolution, and process improvement.
Proven project management and organizational skills, including resource planning and timeline management.
