Research Associate II

• The Research Associate II will support the development and optimization of viral vector purification processes and evaluate new technologies to improve product yield and process understanding.
• The role involves applying advanced downstream purification techniques including chromatography and filtration methods.
• The position includes conducting experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to technical reports, presentations, and scientific publications.
• The associate will collaborate with internal and external teams to support process development, scale-up, and technology transfer activities.

Requirement/Must Have:

• Master s degree in biological sciences or related discipline or Bachelor s degree with minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with purification technologies such as depth filtration, chromatography systems, tangential flow filtration, and filtration unit operations.
• Strong understanding of chromatography principles and downstream purification techniques.
• Experience with process technology transfer, gap analysis, and risk assessment.
• Experience in technical report writing.
• Ability to perform viral vector analyses using new tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of good laboratory practices and proper documentation methods.

Experience:

• Experience in laboratory-based research and purification process development.
• Experience conducting experiments and troubleshooting purification processes.
• Experience analyzing data and presenting findings.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, design, and conduct viral vector purification experiments.
• Evaluate new technologies to enhance product yield and process understanding.
• Apply chromatography and downstream purification techniques.
• Design studies, optimize process conditions, and perform troubleshooting experiments.
• Analyze data and contribute to reports and presentations.
• Support scale-up and implementation of manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for technology transfer.
• Contribute to manuscript and patent writing activities.
• Maintain industry knowledge and participate in knowledge sharing.

Should Have:

• Familiarity with viral vector purification processes.
• Knowledge of analytical tools such as spectrophotometry, ELISA, HPLC, and SDS-PAGE.
• Understanding of Quality by Design principles and DOE methodologies.
• Experience with large-scale unit operations.
• Ability to work in Biosafety Level 2 environments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within collaborative teams.
