Job Description -

Our oil and gas client is seeking an experienced IT Financial Analyst to support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis for enterprise IT initiatives and projects. This role will partner closely with IT leadership, project managers, finance teams, and vendors to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting across technology investments.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience managing IT-related financials, and a solid understanding of technology cost structures including labor, software licensing, SaaS subscriptions, and cloud infrastructure expenses.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis for IT projects, programs, and operational initiatives
• Develop and manage IT budgets, forecasts, and cost models
• Track project expenditures and analyze budget variances
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
• Analyze and monitor IT spend across internal labor, contractors, software, SaaS, cloud, and infrastructure
• Collaborate with IT and Finance stakeholders to ensure accurate financial planning and allocation of costs
• Prepare executive-level financial reports, dashboards, and presentations
• Assist with vendor cost analysis, invoice validation, and contract financial tracking
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements
• Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting
• Experience supporting IT financial operations, technology projects, or IT budgeting
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Solid understanding of IT cost structures, including:
• Internal labor and contractor costs
• Software licensing and SaaS subscriptions
• Cloud and infrastructure expenses
• Experience with SAP
• Experience with IBM Cognos
• Prior experience working within enterprise IT or PMO environments
• Knowledge of capital vs. operational expense tracking for IT projects
