Summary

Summary:

The candidate will work individually, and as part of the facility's team, and will provide Field Operations and Plant personnel with process safety and operational integrity support. Assist the West Texas region with OSHA and EPA regulated facilities with managing, coordinating, and implementing all fourteen (14) elements of the PSM standard and the additional requirements of the EPA's Risk Management Plan (RMP) to verify and ensure regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Be able to prepare and present PSM/RMP related training material and information at both small and large group meetings.

Promote a process safety culture by taking a leadership position to drive improvements in the PSM/RMP programs

Demonstrate leadership in associated day-to-day compliance activities and in employee meetings.

Provide support, serve as a team member and be able to facilitate process hazard analysis as directed.

Provide support as requested on mechanical integrity activities and associated documentation

Provide support for OSHA and EPA inspections of the PSM and RMP programs, respectively.

Provide support and guidance to operations, maintenance, and engineering for PSM/RMP compliance activities at a corporate, local, or regional level

Monitor regulatory action for the PSM and RMP regulations and develops summaries and communicates changes to affected stakeholders.

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices for process safety/risk management and liaisons with operations and engineering staff on implementing best practices in the field.

Provides support and oversight of corporate PSM/RMP related capital projects

Conduct and serve as a team member of various corporate PSM/RMP audits and provide oversight in each region's self-assessment program.

Provide oversight and participate on incident investigation teams as directed.

Provide support in the development of facility specific emergency response plans.

Other PSM related activities assigned by management.

Essential Requirements

Experience, Educational & Special Training Required:

HS graduate as a minimum (Environmental, Engineering or Technical Degree preferred and 6+ years of relevant work experience

Candidate must have demonstrated (verifiable work reference) initiative and the ability to work with limited direct oversight

Must be formally trained in or be willing to complete such training in facilitating PHAs in addition to PSM Auditing and RMP Submission

Possess a sense of urgency, individual responsibility, and ability to work effectively with changing priorities.

Adhere to high ethical standards, function effectively as a team player, and lead others to do the same.

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with changing priorities and deadlines.

Able to interface efficiently with internal clients and suppliers.

Proficient organizational, oral and written communication skills are required.

Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Usually, normal office working conditions.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
