Position Overview

Seeking an experienced IT Security Specialist / Systems Administrator with a strong background in enterprise infrastructure administration, vulnerability remediation, patch management, and systems security.

The selected candidate should be comfortable working directly with production systems, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, automating administrative processes, and collaborating across infrastructure and cybersecurity teams.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Administration & Security
  • Administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure Windows and Linux servers.
  • Support VMware virtual infrastructure and hybrid/cloud environments.
  • Implement security baselines, system hardening practices, and access controls.
  • Maintain secure configurations across enterprise infrastructure.

Vulnerability Management & Remediation
  • Identify, prioritize, track, and remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • Remediate vulnerabilities across physical servers, virtual machines, and cloud resources.
  • Coordinate remediation activities with infrastructure and security teams.
  • Validate completed remediation efforts and maintain accurate tracking documentation.

Patch Management
  • Coordinate and execute operating system and infrastructure patching activities.
  • Monitor patch compliance and resolve failed or missing updates.
  • Validate patch deployments and troubleshoot associated issues.
  • Minimize operational disruption during maintenance windows.

VMware & Cloud Security
  • Maintain and secure VMware vSphere environments.
  • Support security configurations across virtual machines and cloud platforms.
  • Review access controls, security settings, and infrastructure configurations.

Automation & Scripting
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python.
  • Automate patching, remediation, security validation, and reporting processes.
  • Support infrastructure automation initiatives utilizing tools such as Ansible and Terraform.

Documentation & Operational Support
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, security, and patching-related issues.
  • Maintain incident, change management, and remediation records.
  • Document configurations, procedures, and security controls.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and security reporting requirements.
